Nicolas Ghesquière’s Louis Vuitton

Since the winter of 2013, Nicolas Ghesquière has been the head of design at Louis Vuitton. I have always loved Ghesquiere’s aesthetics and his work at Louis Vuitton has been brilliant. The autumn winter  2016 and the recently presented 2017 Cruise collections are strong.  Right now I’m obsessing over the AW 16 boot, seen on my current favorite actor Alicia Vikander at the MET gala, and on several celebrities on the Cruise show in Brazil.

Last autumn had a pair of very similarly looking booties, lucky you guys who copped them. I will be eternally bitter for not buying them even though I tried them on several times.

Summer sneakers

All pictures from sneakersnstuff.com

During summer you can dig all your white and light colored sneakers from the back of the closet and hopefully use them without getting awfully dirty. This spring girl’s sneakers have been in nice bright colors and pastels, and the ones I drool after are the Nike Air Max Plus SE in the lovely lilac color. The Air Max Prestos are clean and fresh, and in my  opinion Nike’s answer to Adidas Turbular model. New Balance is not that popular in Finland but you can spot them on loads of fashion influencers feet, for example Danish fashion editors. Aaand as I mentioned in my last sneaker post, we are going to see a lot of “flyknit” sneakers, Adidas has updated the classic Gazelle model to a flyknit model, but also other classic models such as the Superstar and Stan Smith have gotten a face lift. Which are your favorites?

Eventhough black is my favorite color, white tees are a) cooler in the summer b) looks fresh against a tanned skin. Two of my favorites that I’ve recently bought, from Kenzo and Weekday.

Sneakers on my mind

My boyfriend is tired of me obsessing endlessly over sneakers. I can’t help it, I really love cool sneakers! During the past years we have seen Nike’s Roshe, Air Max 90 and 95, Air Force and Air Max Thea in endless colors, but I hope that soon people will move away from the models and discover some new. The Adidas NMD launch was pretty hyped and the limited edition of the yellow colorway sold out in minutes.

I really like that for example Adidas has reinvented some classic models such as the Gazelle or Nikes Air Icarus or Cortez, and are now available in new and exciting materials and colorways. Puma emerged from the dark after a face lift last year, and in collaboration with Rihanna the popularity has exploded. I mean, who didn’t drool after a pair or RiRi’s creepers?!

The immediate trend that can be seen on the sneaker scene is the “flyknit” or “knit” fabrics, seen both at Nike and Adidas, but also several smaller brands.

And then there’s the high end sneakers.. Stella McCartney, Chloé, Eytys and Calvin Klein.. Keep on dreamin’ right?

Did you guys watch the live feed from H&M Studio Collections fashion show yesterday? I totally forgot about it last night, but thank god for Style.com. I have really liked H&M’s premium collections, well first of all they are affordable but also so wearable. This year it was a obvious mix of moon landing and after ski chic. It is nice to see that so many of springs trends stick until autumn, and the collection included 70’s vibes and prints, culottes, material mixes, long knits, slits, whole white outfits, burgundy, earthy tones of brown and green, polos and the pairing of slacks with a long top. The jackets are fab, I could own the lot. My absolute favorite look is the long burgundy jacket with shiny burgundy pants. Good job H&M, quite a show!

Here’s the whole show! Enjoy!
